Enrichment Programs

Enrichment programs are an important part of your student's education. Many of these programs introduce topics that are not covered in the regular curriculm. Meet the Masters, Imagination Machine and Bully Dudes are all enrichment programs that your children enjoy at LRES. Thanks to your donations and fundraising efforts the PTA continues to be able to fund these programs.

Meet the Masters

Meet the Masters is a PTA funded art education program that introduces students to “Master” artists and their techniques. Once a month students attend an “Introducing the Masters” assembly where they learn about the lives and works of the month’s artist. Following the assembly, students participate in a class activity to create their own original artwork based on the current artist. The instructor guides the students in an age appropriate project based on the technique of the Master Artist. Meet the Masters is a wonderful PTA sponsored program that introduces art history, fine art, builds confidence and is lots of fun!

Holiday Giving Tree

November 28th – December 9, 2011

The PTA is collecting gifts for Families Forward (www.familiesforward.org), a non-profit agency that helps families help themselves. We will be collecting for infants, children and adults. We will be collecting for the Giving Tree November 28th - December 9th. Please come by the school office to select an ornament from the tree. Please return unwrapped gifts to the tree with the ornament attached. All gifts should be brought to the office by Friday, December 9th.

Please join us in helping one of these families. This is a great opportunity to support needy families in Orange County. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Book Fair

The Book Fair is a week long event that brings the books kids love to read to our school in an atmosphere of fun! Students can choose from their favorite titles and parents can be assured that they are getting great books at great prices. Plus, LRES PTA earns Scholastic Dollars for every purchase made. Scholastic Dollars are then used to purchase more books and supplies, including Scholasitc Reading Counts, for LRES. The book fair is held in the front lobby of the public library. Don’t miss this opportunity to build your child’s library and raise funds for LRES. Be sure to check out our fun family activities during Book Fair week. Our PTA will be hosting:

Bingo, Books and Brownies: Tuesday, November 8th

Brownines and Milk 5:30 - 6:00 pm

Bingo games and prizes 6:00 - 7:00 pm

The Book Fair will be open all evening for your convenience.

Donuts with Dad: Wednesday, November 9th 7:45-8:45am
